Graduates from our IPh.D. program have been accepted into prestigious fellowship programs such as Harvard-MIT, Stanford, UCLA and Northwestern. Others have taken positions with the Food and Drug Administration, United States Pharmacopeia, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and in the private sector.

The UMKC School of Pharmacy offers two Interdisciplinary Ph.D. (IPh.D.) degrees, administered by the School of Graduate Studies at UMKC.

  • The Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences has two emphasis areas — pharmaceutics and medicinal chemistry.
  • Pharmacology and Toxicology graduate students may pair their studies with pharmaceutical sciences, cell biology and biophysics, chemistry, molecular biology and biochemistry, oral biology or other related fields in health sciences that offer Ph.D. degrees.
