Biography
Cydney E. McQueen, Pharm.D., is a clinical professor in the Division of Pharmacy Practice and Administration at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy. She completed a two-year fellowship in Natural Product Information and Research at UMKC that focused on application of evidence-based medicine principles to herbal and non-herbal dietary supplements and other complementary medicine practices. She has edited Sigler’s Dietary Supplement Drug Cards and Pharmaceutical Care with Dietary Supplements: Concepts and Common Sense. She has contributed to chapters on herbal and non-herbal supplements for several editions of the Handbook of Nonprescription Drugs and is a contributor/reviewer on dietary supplement and complementary and alternative medicine topics for several references, textbooks, and professional journals as well as to various books on evidence-based medicine and drug information. She represented UMKC in the national Dietary Supplements Quality Collaborative. Over the last decade, she has applied the same evidence-based decision-making process to examining medical cannabis and CBD and is currently working on a textbook for healthcare professional students in this area. Teaching responsibilities focus on evidence-based therapeutic use of dietary supplements, sterile and non-sterile compounding, and cannabis medicine.
