Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic that swept through the country early this year, the UMKC School of Pharmacy has displayed a remarkable resiliency. It has continued to provide quality education to those front-line providers who give essential health care. The school also has conducted desperately needed health science research that is critical to meeting today’s and the future’s world health issues.
The School of Pharmacy provides an overview of these achievements in a new 16-page publication, COVID-19 Special Report: Demonstrating Resilience During a Global Pandemic.
This report describes how the School of Pharmacy is fulfilling its teaching mission through today’s technology including video conferencing, online discussions and experiential education in both introductory and advanced pharmacy practices. It highlights the school’s outstanding student performance and the excellence of instruction provided by its skilled faculty.
It also offers a snapshot of the past year though stories of those who have served on the front line of health care during the ongoing pandemic, spotlights on faculty research, new faces at the school and a celebration of those moving on as members of the 2020 graduating class.
