About

Dr. Diana Tamer received her bachelor of science in biology from the American University of Beirut (AUB), her doctor of pharmacy degree from the Lebanese American University (LAU), and concluded her training at the Houston Methodist Hospital, in Texas. She completed an ASHP accredited PGY-1 residency in pharmacy practice at HonorHealth Scottsdale Medical Center in Arizona, and an ASHP accredited PGY-2 residency program in hematology/oncology at Maine Medical Center in Maine. She also completed a post-graduate certificate program in cancer research at Harvard Medical School, specializing in two tracks: cancer-omics, and clinically challenging cancers.

She is currently a clinical associate professor for the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Pharmacy and practices as a hematology/oncology pharmacy specialist at the AdventHealth Shawnee Mission Cancer Center. Dr. Tamer is a Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP).

Her clinical research interests include targeted therapy directed by genetic testing in treating cancer patients, clinically challenging and resistant tumors, and oncology pharmacist’s role in improving cancer patient outcomes.

Her scholarship of teaching and learning interests include equity in clinical rotations through innovative personalized tracks, and preventing burnout in the classroom and on rotation through unique interventions.
