Mrs. McClaskey received her BS in Pharmacy from Drake University College of Pharmacy. She has over twenty years of health system pharmacy practice, ranging from large community health systems to rural critical access facilities, and long term care consulting. She also served as faculty for a Family Medicine Residency program. Mrs. McClaskey has been involved with pharmacy residency and pharmacy student training throughout her career, serving as residency program director for a PGY1 program for several years, ASHP Practitioner Surveyor and was selected as UMKC Preceptor of the Year for 2009. Under her leadership, the number of residents and programs experienced significant expansion.
Mrs. McClaskey is also actively involved with local and state pharmacy organizations, serving as an elected official, committee leader and ambassador.
Her research interests include alcohol withdrawal, medication safety, and preceptor development.
