The practice-level degree for pharmacists is the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. In order to become a pharmacist in the United States, a student must graduate from an accredited pharmacy program and successfully complete the national and state licensure exams. The Doctor of Pharmacy program at UMKC is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).

Pharmacy is an exciting and challenging profession. Please explore our site to learn more about our program and the variety of career options you can pursue with a Pharm.D. degree.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

Pharmacy students finance their education through a variety of mechanisms including financial aid, working as a pharmacy intern and scholarships. The School has financial aid advisors who are very knowledge about the needs and requirements for Pharm.D. students. Pharm.D. students are eligible for a range of scholarships once they are admitted into the school. Applications are accepted each spring for the available scholarships. Students are encouraged to review the Pharmacy Student Budget Planning Guide (PDF) as they determine the full cost of their education.
