Pharmacy association honors UMKC teacher for community service

The Missouri Pharmacy Association has selected Raymore resident Robert W. Piepho for the 2010 Bowl of Hygeia Award for outstanding community service. The award is given in cooperation with the pharmaceutical company Pfizer.

Piepho has served on several community boards and is on the faculty of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy, where he has been honored for teaching excellence.

The Bowl of Hygeia is the most widely recognized international symbol for the pharmacy profession and is considered its most prestigious award. Established in 1958, it recognizes pharmacists who possess outstanding records of civic leadership and encourage pharmacists to take active roles in community affairs.
