The Division of Pharmacy Practice and
Administration is seeking highly creative and
motivated individuals for the following
positions.
Tenure Track Position, Social and
Administrative Health Sciences
Kansas City campus
This tenure track faculty position, serving as a
member of the Division of Pharmacy Practice and
Administration with a teaching and research
emphasis in the social and administrative health
sciences, is available at the assistant,
associate, or professor level. The faculty
member will be expected to develop and maintain
an extramurally funded research program,
collaborate with other faculty to build the
graduate program in social and administrative
sciences, provide professional and graduate
student instruction and serve the university and
their discipline. Opportunities for
collaboration exist with faculty members within
the school, state government health agencies,
managed care organizations, health professional
schools within UMKC and a nationally ranked
school of business and public administration.
The faculty member will also be an
integral part of facilitating the curriculum and
leading large and small group teaching. The
social and administrative health sciences
position is located at the UMKC Health Sciences
Building in Kansas City at a multidisciplinary
medical center campus.
Candidates should have a doctor of
philosophy degree in an area of pharmacy
administration or health services research.

Non-Tenure Track Position in Specialty
Pharmacy Practice Area
Kansas City campus
This non-tenure track faculty position will
practice in a pharmacy specialty area such as
inpatient medicine, internal medicine, family
medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, cardiology,
oncology or pediatrics, based upon the
candidate’s clinical expertise and institution
needs.
In addition to developing a clinical
service, the faculty member will also be an
integral part of developing the site to help
facilitate delivery of the curriculum, large and
small group teaching, establishing new clinical
services, and mentoring pharmacy students.

Non-Tenure Track Position in Ambulatory
Care/Primary Care Medicine
Columbia satellite campus
The position is in adult ambulatory/primary care
medicine. One of the sites available is at the
Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital.
The faculty member will practice within
the VA Hospital’s primary care team clinics with
opportunities to develop and initiate new
services based on clinical expertise and
veterans' needs.
The faculty member will also be an
integral part of developing the satellite
program in terms of facilitating the curriculum,
large and small group teaching, establishing new
clinical services, and mentoring pharmacy
students.

General Responsibilities for Non-Tenure Track Faculty The faculty member's
practice will support both senior rotational students and a longitudinal
clerkship experience for junior level students.
The faculty member will also be responsible for didactic teaching
in team taught courses, scholarship and professional, university and/or
community service. The relative distribution
of these responsibilities varies with the location of the position. Non-tenure track positions: A doctor of pharmacy degree with post-doctoral training, or equivalent experience in the discipline, and a Missouri pharmacist's license are required for all non-tenure track positions. Academic rank and salary commensurate with experience. |

The UMKC School of Pharmacy offers an
entry-level doctor of pharmacy degree. The program is delivered by
faculty at the Kansas City campus and at the satellite campus in
Columbia, Missouri. The entering class size is 123; 95 students at the
Kansas City campus and 28 students at the Columbia campus. The Division
of Pharmacy Practice and Administration is comprised of over 30 energetic
faculty representing a broad array of disciplines. The division is growing to a
total of 38 positions to support the increased class size. The Health
Sciences Building in Kansas City, housing the School of Pharmacy, opened
in summer 2007. The satellite program is located on the University of
Missouri-Columbia campus, that includes health science programs in
Allied Health, Medicine, and Nursing. |
