Dr. Smith’s specialty is cardiology medicine. He graduated from UMKC in 2000 and  completed his post-doctoral training at the VA Medical Center in Iowa City, IA in 2001. Dr. Smith worked as a clinical pharmacist at KU hospital specializing in cardiology for seven years. Dr. Smith’s clinical practice site is with the Cardiology service at Truman Medical Center at Hospital Hill where he rounds with the inpatient cardiology service. Dr. Smith’s current projects include medication optimization in heart failure patients and identifying barriers to cardiac rehabilitation participation.  Dr. Smith is currently serving as Immediate Past President of the Missouri Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists.
