Drug Information Center
Welcome to the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Pharmacy Drug Information Center webpage. We are a designated academic center that provides drug information to patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. In addition, we provide evidence-based medicine formulary management services to hospitals and state agencies. The Center is located within the School of Pharmacy so our resources are convenient for faculty, staff, and students. We have an assortment of print resources pertaining to prescription, over-the-counter, and dietary supplement drugs. In addition, we have access to a number of electronic resources that provide up-to-date information needed to perform our drug information activities. We provide an experiential rotation for pharmacy students in our Pharm.D. program. Center Faculty teach a required course entitled, “Evidence-Based Medicine” to our pharmacy students. This course gives the students a working knowledge of the application of EBM principles to assist them in making clinical decisions. A 5-Step Evidence-Based Medicine process developed at this Center and described in a recently published book entitled, “The Pharmacists Guide to Evidence Based Medicine for Clinical Decision Making” provides the core knowledge of this course. Requests for drug information can be made by contacting us via our telephone number, (816)235-5490, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
